Coin Counting Snack Shop

Frugal Fun 4 Boys shared a fun way to help your children learn about purchasing items and calculating change.

They suggested setting up a store with with snack items to “buy”. Their snack shop had blueberries, cheese sticks, M&M’s, and granola bars. Other good options would be bananas, crackers, raisins, strawberries, or pretzels. Have your child calculate the cost per serving, not per item.

Give kids a set amount of money to spend, and then set your prices based on how many snacks you want them to be able to afford! Make receipts (I used index cards – so easy) and add up the total amount spent. For more information, click here.
